The passage of cyclone Idai through central Mozambique, and the floods that followed, left a trail of destruction and human and material damage of incalculable value. It is estimated that more than 2.8 million people were affected by the cyclone.
None of the offices and manufacturing units of the IBG Group companies has been geographically affected, but this is of course a cause that sensitizes us.
In solidarity with this tragedy, we have partnered with the Portuguese Red Cross through the provision of water purification tablets that will be used to make water safe for human consumption, helping to prevent the spread of epidemics favored by stagnant water and the inexistence of health and hygiene conditions such as malaria, cholera, dengue and zika.
In a joint initiative with Tensai and Europa Ar-lindo, we have also gathered material to support the reconstruction of a school so that children can learn again. Containers are already loaded and on the way to Mozambique.
The reconstruction of infrastructure and social and economic fabric is a priority for Mozambique. We make our commitment to help in everything we can.
